In order to prevent oil and water leakage, some components such as the drive axle and the mounting surface of the oil pan have sealing packings and gaskets to ensure tight adhesion. How do we disassemble and install the components of the sealing packing and gasket? The steps are as follows: 1. Gasket/packing (oil pan, cylinder head) removal and installation method and precautions

In order to prevent oil and water leakage, some components such as the drive axle and the mounting surface of the oil pan have sealing packings and gaskets to ensure tight adhesion.

How do we disassemble and install the components of the sealing packing and gasket? The steps are as follows:

1. Disassemble the bonded parts

Using oil pan sealing scraper

(1) Insert the SST (oil pan sealing scraper) straight into the mounting surface of the oil pan, cylinder block, etc.

Tip:

When the oil pan sealing scraper is inserted into the mounting surface for the first time, the oil pan is easily twisted. Insert the oil pan seal scraper evenly so that its edges are in full contact with the bonding surface.

(2) When moving the oil pan sealing scraper horizontally, knock the oil pan sealing scraper along the diagonal slope.

(3) Use SST to separate the sealing surfaces as much as possible to avoid bending the oil pan.

Note:

Check the position of the stud bolts while driving in the oil pan sealing scraper.

When driving in the oil pan sealing scraper, slide carefully along the oil pan without prying up its surface. Damage to the mounting surface will cause oil pan leakage and other failures, so the operation should be carried out carefully and gradually.

When removing components with a plastic hammer or flat-head screwdriver, pry and hit the ribs with a plastic hammer or flat-head screwdriver.

Note:

When using a flat-head screwdriver, wrap the tip with a protective tape or Z-olefin tape to avoid any damage to the mounting surface.

Then use a screwdriver to pry evenly in the cross diagonal direction to smoothly remove the box.

Any bending of the component or any damage to the mounting surface will cause oil leakage.
